[edit] Overview

Editing the pages of your website is done easily through your browser, from any computer in the world. You won't need to return to a specific computer with an application installed on it − you can edit and maintain the website from home, office, or on vacation!

[edit] How To Edit Your Website

Before continuing, ensure that all popup blockers are disabled. Many of the editing functions of your website will open new windows for you to see, and they will be blocked if you are using a popup blocker.

  1. First, log in to The Website Manager
  2. Second, click the Edit Website icon to open your website in Edit Mode
  3. Click the Pages link
  4. Click the name of the page that you wish to edit
  5. The page will open with a familiar WYSIWYG (What You See It What You Get) editor, allowing you to edit and insert images as easily as if you were composing an email
  6. Make your changes in the editor box
  7. To insert an image, click the Insert Image icon
  8. Click Save to save your changes

[edit] How to Add Images

Before you can insert an image, you will need to save it to your website's storage. Be sure to read the 'Image Tips' section below!

  1. Log in and click Edit Website as described above
  2. Click the Media link
  3. Use the Browse button to select an image on your computer that you wish to upload
  4. Click to begin uploading your images
  5. Once the image has been uploaded, you will be able to add it using the Insert Image icon from the editor, as described above

[edit] Image Tips

  • You cannot upload an image that is larger than 2MB. An image this size is entirely too large to be placed on a website for regular display.
  • Image resolution should be 640 x 480 pixels at the most, and the file should be about 75Kb at the most.
  • If you are uploading an image and it is failing or taking a very long time to load for visitors, you will need to reduce the size of the image using the instructions from Making Your Website Load Faster.
  • You can link to images that are not stored on your site by entering the full URL from another website, rather than selecting an image stored on your server.
