Accessing Your Email

Each ZebraDots Hosting email account is accessible online so that you can view and respond to your emails from any computer in the world. This allows you the freedom of managing your website without needing to return to a specific computer to retrieve your emails.
[edit] How To Access Your Email
When you create a ZebraDots Hosting account, your default email address is info@YOURDOMAIN.COM − replace YOURDOMAIN.COM with your actual domain name.
- First, log in to The Website Manager
- Second, click the Email Access icon
- At the login prompt, enter your complete email address, which is info@YOURDOMAIN.COM (Replace YOURDOMAIN.COM with your actual domain name)
- Enter your admin password in the password field
- You will be logged in to see your emails
[edit] Setting Up Your Email Identity
The first time you log in, you will need to set your email address and personal identity information.
- Click Options > Personal Information
- Change your:
- Full Name (e.g. "John Smith")
- Email Address (e.g. "info@yourdomain.com")
- Reply-To (e.g. "info@yourdomain.com")
- Click Submit
[edit] Changing Your Password
If you choose to change your email account password, please be aware that it will not affect any other passwords for your account. Likewise, changing your website's admin password will not affect your default email account or your Hosting Account Management password. We will not be able to recover your new password if you lose it, so please WRITE IT DOWN.
[edit] Adding or Changing Email Accounts
You can add more email addresses or make changes to existing addresses. The number of email addresses you can create depends on your hosting plan. For more information about managing your hosting account, see Hosting Account Management.
[edit] Using an Email Client Such as Outlook or Thunderbird
ZebraDots does not provide technical support for the use of a remote email client. Please contact your local network administrator for assistance with this.
You are welcome to attempt using the following settings to access email using the client of your choice, but this functionality is not guaranteed. Replace all instances of YOURDOMAIN.COM with your actual domain name.
- IMAP Server: mail.YOURDOMAIN.COM
- SMTP Server: mail.YOURDOMAIN.COM
- SMTP Auth: ON
- Username: info@YOURDOMAIN.COM (or if you have created new email accounts for new users, use "username.domain" WITHOUT the .com or .org extension)
- Password: (Your selected password for the account)
